Humans remain the most flexible resource. Particularly when dealing with low and moderate quantities, manual assembly, combined with automated production processes, this represents a cost-effective solution compared to fully automatic production systems.
However, Rohwedder has taken this idea one step further.
Progressive investment adapted to quantity requirements.
Starting with a hybrid assembly solution, the system can be extended successively if it becomes necessary to increase quantities. This can be achieved by duplicating existing processes, distributing tasks among several assembly stations or increasing the degree of automation by replacing manual stations with automatic assembly cells. Needless to say, if the quantity is then decreased, these extensions can be reused for follow-up products.
